Diamond Valley Lake |
Diamond Valley Lake is a 4,500 acres park, measuring approximately 2 miles wide by 4.5 miles long and is 160 to 260 feet deep. This is the largest body of freshwater in Southern California stocked to the rim with Large mouth Bass, Small mouth Bass, Redear Sunfish, Bluegill, Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, Tule Perch, and Rainbow Trout. You can catch largemouth and small mouth bass, red ear sunfish, bluegill, blue and channel catfish, tule perch and rainbow trout. This lake has already produced bass over the 10lbs range. San Vicente Reservoir |
San Vicente is one of the larger lakes in the San Diego county, a deep clear water lake. You will find Redear Sunfish, Black Crappies, Largemouth Bass, 3lb. Blluegill, and Volkswagon sized Catfish(101 lb. state record). Every season during the winter, San Vicente stocks it's water with trout. More on San Vicente |
El Capitan Reservoir |
El Capitan is a premier bass and crappie fishery headlining the San Diego lakes fish counts regularly. Whether it is Bass, Crappie, or Catfish, you will find a high productive count at the "North End" of this lake. This lake is know for the quantity of fish. More on El Capitan |
Lake Sutherland |
Lake Sutherland lies, hidden, deep with in the San Diego Mountains. Upon arrival, you will notice how serene the lake looks with its protruding rock forms. submerged trees, and picture perfect shorelines. This lake provides Bass, Bluegill, and Channel Catfish. More on Lake Sutherland |
Lake Hodges |
Lake Hodges is known nationally for its largemouth bass population. This lake is one of the few ever to produce a 20 lb class largemouth without a trout stock. The lake record is 20 lbs 4 ozs. Lake Otay Reservoir |
Home of the San Diego Olympic training center and one of the counties oldest lakes. Lower Otay is one of the premiere bass fisheries on the west coast that has made a name for itself through its long history. The lake is equally matched with quality and quantity bass fishing. This bass lake has old dead trees sticking out of the water and under water rock piles. Lake Otay is known to have very large catfish. Colorado River |
The Colorado River is good to excellent when fishing for Flathead Catfish. These Flathead Catfishes are known to weigh up to 70 pounds! Spring and Summer are the best times to fish for this catfish. The hoter the better, i say! The various backwaters will be good for Largemouth Bass and other sunfish like Bluegill and Redear. Other species available in the main river channel are Smallmouth Bass and Striped Bass. |
